Wines & Things is the exclusive distributor of the MBG portfolio in Nigeria. We operate from a showroom in Lekki Phase 1, Lagos, and every wine in the portfolio moves through our house before it reaches a client, a trade account or an event.
What exclusive distribution means for you
One channel means one accountable source. Stock in the portfolio does not pass through resellers or informal importers on its way to us, so provenance stays traceable from producer to case. It also means we can speak plainly about availability. If a wine is in stock, we know it. If an allocation is limited, we say so rather than guess. That accountability is the practical value of exclusive distribution, and it is the reason we can commit to it without needing to make more of it than it is.
For a buyer, this shows up in three practical ways. Every case can be traced back to the producer, so there is no uncertainty about how a bottle reached Nigeria. Stock information we give you reflects what we actually hold, not what a secondary source last saw. And because we are the only route the portfolio takes into the country, we can speak with certainty about availability and allocation rather than pass along someone else's guess.
The portfolio, by origin
The portfolio spans three countries and eighteen wines. The full range is viewable on the collection page.
From Italy, eight wines come from Scavi & Ray: the Prosecco Spumante and the Moscato among the sparkling wines, the Ice Prestige sparkling and the Hugo sparkling aperitif, the Sprizzione aperitivo, the Il Bianco white, the Cioccolata liqueur, and a non-alcoholic White Grape.
From South Africa, six wines: Jordan's The Prospector Syrah, Jordan's Unoaked Chardonnay and Nine Yards Chardonnay, Man Vintners' Pinotage and Chenin Blanc, and Ken Forrester's Petit Chenin Blanc.
From France, four wines: Chateau Pouyanne's Rouge and Blanc from Graves, Chateau Rieussec's Sauternes for dessert, and the Bouchard Hannibal red blend.
Beyond this listed collection, we hold a reserve of high-end South African and French wines available to private clients on request. Ask us directly if you are looking for something specific.
Who buys it, and how
The portfolio serves four kinds of buyer. Trade accounts stock it for restaurants, lounges and hotels. Event planners buy it by the case for weddings and parties. Companies buy it for corporate gifting. Private clients buy it to build a cellar or provision a dinner. Every buyer moves through the same case-based structure, priced by quote rather than by a published list. Trade accounts open with a minimum of two cases, and the details sit on the trade page.
The range gives each buyer room to choose according to the occasion. A restaurant building a sparkling-by-the-glass program has eight Italian wines to draw from. A corporate buyer assembling a gift case can lean into the South African reds or the French blends. A private client provisioning a dinner has easy, food-friendly whites and a dessert wine in the Rieussec Sauternes to close the evening.
How to buy
Wine is sold by the case only, six bottles of 75cl. We do not publish prices and we do not take payment online. Build a wishlist from the collection, send it through, and we confirm availability and reply with a quote. Reach us through the inquiries page, by email at inquiries@winesandthings.com, or by WhatsApp. If you would rather see the wines before you order, the showroom in Lekki Phase 1 is open Monday to Saturday, 10am to 9pm, and Sunday, 1pm to 7pm.
Trade orders move on a lead time of 24 to 72 hours from inquiry to delivery. Delivery anywhere in Lagos takes 24 to 48 hours from a confirmed order. Abuja, Port Harcourt and the Eastern axis are handled by inquiry and quoted separately for distance. If you want a single bottle rather than a case, our retail partners across Lagos carry a selection from the range.
